In partnership with Kodak Entertainment imaging, we are once again proud to present this regular seminar series. One of Australia's most successful cinematographers, John Seale will be joined by talented new comer, Denson Baker, to discuss and demonstrate the screen influences and images that define their visual style.

John Seale is a world renowned cinematographer, having been Director of Photography on The English Patient, Harry Potter, The talented Mr Ripley and Dead Poet's Society to name a few. Denson Baker was awarded two golden tripods at the Australian Cinematographers Society NSW division awards for his work on the short dramas - Intransit and Together in the Middle of Nowhere. In 2002 he won the award for Best Cinematography at Flickerfest for the film Together in the Middle of Nowhere and the 2002 AFI Award for Best cinematography in a non-feature for his work on the short film Jack.
The session will be chaired by Tim Waygood.

DOCUMENTARY MASTERCLASS

A workshop from the highly esteemed documentary director, Dennis K Smith - With a deep interest in social, ethical, cultural and ethnographic issues Dennis Smith has worked with large and small television crews around Australia, in the Philippines, Ethiopia and Japan.

Dennis Smith's latest documentary Rainbow Bird and Monster Man has won many awards including two Awgie Awards and the prestigious Golden Awgie from the Australian Writer's Guild. Recently it was nominated for four AFI Awards and won Best Editing in a Non-Feature Film, 2002. This seminar will take us on a journey through his body of work from idea to image to the screen.
