Here they are - the Flickerfest team for 2012 ! Bronwyn Kidd, Flickerfest Director As the director of Flickerfest for the past 15 years Bronwyn has curated hundreds of short film programmes for both the festival, its national touring programme and many other international film festivals including The London Australian Film Festival at The Barbican. For the past five years she has been one of the management committee members and key organisers of the International Short Film Conference [ISFC], the international body that advises on short films festivals and protocol throughout the world.
Recently Bronwyn has participated on the jury of many respected short film competitions internationally including the World Wide Short Film Festival Toronto Canada, Grimstad Norway and the International Short Film Festival of Drama Greece.
In 2002 Bronwyn founded the Flickerfest short film bureau to distribute Australian short films internationally. The Flickerfest Short film bureau now represents over 180 of Australia¹s best shorts and has successfully made many sales to all known territories and broadcasters and platforms buying shorts worldwide.
Bronwyn has successfully Executive Produced 3 series of Flickerfest On Extra a short film programme dedicated to Australian short film including all online content across websites and other cross platform portals.
Shane Rennie, Flickerfest Production & Tour Co-ordinator Shane has been the production coordinator of Flickerfest for over 13 years and is involved in all areas of festival management and technical presentation. He has been coordinating the National Tour for the past 6 years, working directly with tour venues to establish dates, programme suggestions, media and online strategies and logistics that assist with all areas of tour presentation.
Shane has worked with stills for over 30yrs & has shot promo pics for Flickerfest's Trailer Shoot, Media Launch, Opening, Festival Week, Closing & Tour for around 10 years.
Shane is also the iQ Reserve Trust president and has managed iQ Arts & Eco Centre-Byron Bay for 16 years - a community crown reserve being created as an arts, environment & sustainable communities hub for the Byron region (which has included logistics for approx 40 festivals); he is also chairperson of NCCTV (North Coast Community TV)
In 2009 he founded, & is organiser of Byron All Shorts - Northern Rivers Short Film Comp. He also devised an arts & eco insurance umbrella service which aids low-no budget filmmakers (and many other community endeavours) with insurance through iQ Arts & Eco Insurance scheme since 2001; & assisted Byron Film Club monthly screenings from 2006-2009 with these services.
Shane has also been on the Flickerfest selection Committee for some years now & has been on the Jury for the National Campus Film Festival. Shane also has extensive experience in Social Choreography (social, cultural & community planning); construction & sustainable development.
Rosie Crerar, Flickerfest Programming and Industry Relations Manager Rosie Crerar has a range of film festival and film production expertise. Having worked at EIFF and the BFI, in 2006 Rosie co-founded the independent Scottish film programme The Magic Lantern, curating thematic short film programmes, and screening with touring partners in a range of venues across the UK. From 2008-2010, Rosie co-founded and directed the Glasgow Short Film Festival (GSFF). In partnership with the broader Glasgow Film Festival,
Rosie has developed GSFF into one of the UK¹s premiere short film festivals. Alongside a passion for creative programming Rosie has worked as an emerging producer across the consortium of award-winning Scottish production companies: DigiCult, Brocken Spectre and Edge City Films, and has been recognised internationally by the Berlinale Talent Campus 2010, Binger Film Lab 2010 (A La Carte) and Toronto (TIFF) Talent Lab 2010. She has produced a number of acclaimed short films, most recently 'Nocturn' wr/dir Leanne Welham which premiered in competition at SXSW, and 'Paris/Sexy' wr/dir Ruth Paxton, which in January 2011 won the UK Film Council award for Best British Short at London Short Film Festivalin January Rosie moved to Sydney, and since here has worked with Transmission Films and the Sydney Film Festival. |
